Mrs. Ethel Bohannon Pope

SAVANNAH- Mrs. Ethel Nathalie “Nat” Bohannon Pope, 90 entered eternal rest, Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Candler Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Charles Hayden Bohannon and Donna Ethel Carver Bohannon of Cookeville, Tennessee. She was born August 17, 1935, and was the second youngest of eight siblings, all who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Pope. Many of her friends and immediate family members affectionately knew her as “Nat-Lie” "Aunt Nat", "Nana" and "Grandma". In 1945 her family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida and later relocated to Pompano Beach, FL., seeking a better life. There she matured educationally. “Nat-Lie” developed cooking skills at a very young age and pursued the culinary arts until becoming a chef. The “kitchen” was known as her “happy place”. She brought joy to many mouths and taste buds, and shared learned skills with both loved ones and friends while her health permitted. Ethel was baptized into Christ during the younger stage of her life. After permanently moving to Savannah in 2008 to be near her older sister, Edna. Ethel remained as faithful as her health allowed. She worshipped with the saints at Liberty City, Carver Heights and Middle Ground Road Churches of Christ in Savannah. She leaves to cherish her memories: son Ulrick "Eric" Olibrice (Tanisha), grand children: Mykia Olibrice, Qwanteria Olibrice, Justin Olibrice, Christopher Thomas; great grandchildren: Ja’kia Griffin, Ja’vianna Olibrice, Janae Olibrice, Akiyah Olibrice, and J2 Olibrice; nieces and nephews: Willie (Ceil) Green (nephew) Columbus, GA, James (Regina) Green (nephew) Mansfield, TX, Michael Green (nephew) Savannah, GA, Donna C Cherry (niece) Atlanta, GA, Jonetta E Green (niece) West Palm Beach, FL, Ralph S. Sapp (cousin) Baltimore, MD; other family and friends, Cleo Dixon, Margaret Dyson (preceded in death), Vickie Capers-Thompson, Jeanette Blake, Steven Doyle, Yvonne Patterson, Jessica Hope, Bonnie-Sue Johnson-Thomas, Eva Brown, Carolyn Walker, and Dr. Willis Blake, loving grand nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
