Port Wentworth - Mrs. Viola Ferguson, 89 entered eternal rest Monday, October 4, 2021. She was born October 18, 1931 to the parents of Walter Ferguson Sr., and Jannie Wright in Savannah, Georgia. She attended the Chatham County Public Schools. She retired from Alfred Ely Beach High School after thirty years of service as a custodian. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church and later moved her membership to White Oak Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Williams, Sr.; parents, Walter Ferguson Jr. and Jannie Wright, grandparents; Charlton and Viola Ferguson, sisters; Hattie Mae Bryant and Thelma Stewart; brothers, Leroy White, Sr., nieces, Lillie Gooding Allen, Georgetta Bryant, Sharon Bryant; nephews, Harvey and Harris Lee Ferguson. Surviving: step-mother, Dora Ferguson; sisters, Carrie Smart (James), Elizabeth Hurst, Louise Johnson (Willie), Rosella Hunter (Charles), Georgia; brothers, Walter Ferguson (Rose Mary), Charles Ferguson (Shirley) all of Port Wentworth; step-children, Oliver Williams, Jr., Catherine Williams and Paul Williams all of Savannah, GA; an adopted daughter, Vanessa Tremble, sister-in-law, Emma L. Steele of Rincon, Georgia a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
