Mrs. Veta LaTreace Johnson-Coger

August 6, 1976 - November 2, 2012

MACON- Veta LeTreace Johnson Coger, 36 passed away November 2, 2012 in Macon, Georgia. She was a native of Atlanta. Her primary and adolescent years however, were spent growing up between Macon and Savannah culminating with her graduation from H.V. Jenkins High School of Savannah in 1994. She furthered her educational endeavors with matriculation at Claflin University, Orangeburg, SC where she received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Math. She then went on to Ohio University where she obtained her Masters Degree in Adolesence Education/ Mathematics. She completed Doctoral work in Higher Education, ABD. She embarked on a Stellar teaching career serving on the faculty of the Greater Atlanta Christian School as a Math and Physical Science Instructor. She also taught at Savannah Technical College, Columbus Technical College, and Virginia College, Macon. She was an online instructor for Miller-Mott College. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She was currently employed by the Bibb County Board of Education as a Parent Academic Instructor. Veta was a very devout member of the Church of Christ attested to by her personal participation in its many activities. Her commitment to God will leave an enduring impact on the many lives she has touched. Forever cherishing her memories will be her husband: Grequenceo Coger, Sr., Her son: A’Tev Coger, Step Children: JaKerra Coger, Grequenceo Coger, Jr., Morgan Willis Coger, all of Macon, Her loving parents, Ministering Evangelist Roosevelt Johnson, Sr., Minister of the Liberty City Church of Christ, Savannah, and his wife Sarah Johnson of Savannah. Brother: Roosevelt Johnson, Jr., Savannah; Grandmother: Hazel Coger of Macon, Mother-in-Law, Martha H. Harrell of Warner Robbins, Father-in-Law: Gregory Marshall, of Macon, God Children: Janell Harris, Gayland, Totyanna, Darius, and Rhylee Corbitt. A host of other relatives and friends. Public Viewing: Friday, November 9, 2012 at the chapel of Sexton-Hall from 2:00 – 6:00 PM
