Port Wentworth - Deacon James Williams, Sr., 67 entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family under the professional care of Hospice Savannah. He was a native of Savannah and educated in the public schools of Chatham County. He was a graduate of Tompkins High School, Class of 1969 and a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board. He further his education at Armstrong State College in the nursing program and then continued with his studied at The Technical College of the Low Country, Beaufort, South Caroline. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. He worked as a Registered Nurse at Candler Hospital for over twenty years of service. He is a veteran of the US Navy having served for eight years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Henry and Mother Emma Washington Williams, two brothers, Henry Williams, Jr., and Joshua Williams. He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his wife, Jessie Lee Washington Williams of Savannah; five sons, James Williams II of Savannah, Michael (Takeesha) Williams of Augusta, John Williams of Savannah, Alfred Williams (CeCeilia) of Charlotte, NC, Calvin Williams of Savannah; two daughters, Kimberly Williams-Leslie of Savannah, and Samantha Williams of Charlotte, NC, twenty-five grandchildren; two sisters, Juerlene Williams of Savannah and Jessica Beckett(John) of Fayetteville, GA; brothers, Jeremiah Williams (Linda) of Savannah, and Jonathan Williams (Joyce) of Albany, GA; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
