Ms. Cynthia Thompson

Savannah/AR - Ms. Cynthia Antoinette Lundy Thompson, 68 passed away peacefully, July 20, 2022. She was born in Savannah, Georgia, and a graduated of Herschel V Jenkins High School Class of 1972. She is preceded in death by her mother Mattie Lundy, father Clarence Washington, sisters Maxine and Crystal, and brother James. Cynthia was a devoted Christian and mother to her four boys, Patrick D. Thompson of Lonoke, AR, Pierre D. Thompson of Fairbanks, AK, Phillip D. Thompson of Little Rock, AR and Payton D. Thompson of Savannah, GA. Cynthia loved and cherished her surviving grandchildren Simone Lundy of Wake Forest, NC, Jewel Thompson of Raleigh, NC, and Damien Thompson of Savannah, GA. Cynthia also was a great-grandmother to Adi Lundy, son of Simone. Cynthia lived her life by keeping God in all her thoughts and actions. As a devoted Christian, she taught Sunday school at Liberty City Church of Christ in Savannah, GA. She also was involved in Women’s Christian Ministry. In 1986 she and her boys moved to Winston-Salem, NC. They were welcomed and worshipped at the Carver Road Church of Christ. Cynthia continues her work in the Church and participated in the Carver Road Acapella Song Group. She also taught Sunday school and was very active in Vacation Bible School. She sang and prayed with all of her brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the country. She was very instrumental in bringing new members to the Church. Her faith was paramount, and she counseled many ministers, deacons, and elders by knowing that understanding God’s word comes through prayer. She will be missed by her loving family and her family in Christ Jesus. Surviving: sons Patrick, Pierre, Phillip, and Payton; brother Charles Lundy; sisters Edith Roberson and Linda Robinson; grandchildren Simone, Jewel, and Damien; great-grandson Adi; 6 nieces and 5 nephews. Cynthia was also grateful for the love of her former husband Paul D. Thompson and his very gracious sisters and brothers. Cynthia worked tirelessly for her family and always included them in her prayers because she loved God and known that his grace will shine light on their path. The family request that you wear the color BLUE, which is her favorite color and the color of the heavens.
