Mrs. Bertha Lee Williams Beckett

SAVANNAH - Mrs. Bertha Lee Williams Beckett, 97 passed away peacefully, Monday, January 13, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 1, 1927, in Savannah, GA. She was the youngest of eleven children born to Mrs. Lillie Williams. She was raised in the sugar refinery quarters by Mr. Jonathan Redfield and Mrs. Corine Redfield. She attended the Chatham County Public School. She was employed by the Savannah Sugar Refinery for many years. Mrs. Beckett was joined in Holy matrimony to Mr. Francisco Beckett Jr. They had one son, Mr. Anthony Beckett and raised Mr. Timothy Lee, Ms. Lucinda Bryant, and Mrs. Shirley Wright. They loved traveling and spending time with family. They were actively involved in the Bartow Community where they lived. She joined the Mount Moriah Baptist church and was baptized on June 13, 1965, under the leadership of Reverend Henry Wiliams. She was a faithful member of the church. She also sang in the Mount Moriah Senior Choir where she was a lead singer. She was installed as Church Mother in February of 2013. She was one of the original members of the West End Union Mass Choir originated in 1982. Until her passing she was the oldest living member of the West End Union. Preceded in death: Lillie Williams, Mr. Jonathan Redfield and Mrs. Corine Redfield., Husband Mr. Francisco Beckett Jr., Siblings: Mr. Emanuel Williams, Reverend Henry Williams, Mr. Walter Williams, Mr. Ben Williams, Mr. Joseph Williams Sr, Mrs. Lucille Bryant, Ms. Magnolia Williams, Mrs. Ethel B. Duncan, Mrs. Sarah Brooks and Mrs. Celia Bell Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her son Deacon Anthony (Deaconess Tonia) Beckett, Mr. Timothy (Jackie) Lee, Mrs. Shirley (William) Wright, and Ms. Lucinda Bryant. (6) Grandchildren Minister Kareem (Wanda) Beckett, Mr. Andre (Janeen) Beckett, Ms. Anthonique Beckett, Ms. Taranesha Lundy, Mr. SanTravis Brown, Mr. Antonio Brown., (10) Great Grand Children, (4) Great Great Grandchildren., Special Niece and Care Giver Ms. Juerlene Williams, (4) God-Children Ms. Deloris Johnson, Ms. Samantha Williams, Ms. Diamon Dukes, and Mr. Antonio Shepherd, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
